Tibetan Mastiffs have been bred by Tibetan nomads. They are highly intelligent and extremely protective. They should be kept busy with training, play and socialisation. An adult Tibetan Mastiff is independent enough to stay alone at home.
They have a long double coat that can vary from black and brown to grey. The hair is thick near the neck and has a watchful eye. Their coat protects them from extreme weather conditions.
Tibetan Mastiffs should usually be kept away from other dogs or they can be aggressive. They need intensive socialisation. You should be a jogging partner of your Tibetan Mastiff. They should be trained at an early age. They need daily exercise and mental simulation. They compete well in organised activities. They are strong and stubborn therefore they should be trained.
